All students who are registered for twelve or more credits pay a student activity fee of $60.00 per semester. These funds are allocated by the FIT Student Association to over seventy clubs and organizations to implement all the extra curricular activities on campus.
FITSA is the FIT Student Association or government on campus. The Student Council meets monthly and is made up of annually elected student committee members, the annually elected Executive and Programming Board members and one representative from every recognized club and organization on campus. Council is open to all students who pay the student activity fee and voting privileges are granted after one attends two consecutive meetings.
3. How can I get involved in student government?
In addition to running for elected office, or representing a club or committee at the Student Council meetings, all students are eligible to become members of all college committees that deal with curriculum, admission policies, library, diversity, student affairs, etc. Once a year, in the Fall, elections are held for these committees at a Student Council meeting. In addition, Student Council meetings, held once a month during a Tuesday common hour, are open to all students. After attending two consecutive meetings, a student receives voting privileges.
